Speed and Experiment Worksheet.
Summary:
In the begining of the class, Ms.Cho came around and checked our homework while we were doing the 3 warm up problems. After correcting the warm ups, Ms.Cho handed out a page of notes that also had homework on the back. While we were reading the notes, Steve walked in to our room, and we did our secret code (CA CAW!) and I thought he left and the coast was clear, but it turns out he was still there the whole time...(i think he was suspicious). The homework was to solve problems using formulas like S=D/T and D=S/T. We then did some problems on the board, and Ms.Cho picked people who she thought didn't understand it. When we were done we went into our city project for the rest of the period. I learned that Speed is like velocity, except velocity has direction. One good way to remember Speed, Distance and Time, for our quiz is STD (s= speed, t= time, d= distance).
A bike moves 50m in 5 Sec. Calculate the speed of the bike.
Step 1. Variables.
S= 50m. D=? T=5 sec
Step 2. Formula.S= D/T
Step 3. Solve for Unknown Variable.
SxT=D
Step 4. Plug in Number.
50x5=S
Step 5. Solve
D=250m/s
